FALL FAQs

HELLO EVERYONE!

HOPE YOU ARE ENJOYING A WONDERFUL END OF SUMMER!

I thought I would stay on top of things this year and start fall bookings early!  So before I start to advertise. I will let everyone on my email list get their picks of fall dates…. That’s YOU! ❤️

I know it’s going to be crazy this fall because September is already booking up - and foliage season has yet to start!

PLEASE NOTE!  $25 dollar deposit will be required to confirm booking.

When is the best time to book
Depending on how dry the weather is. The last week of September and the first two weeks of October is prime foliage season!I often shoot until the first week of November. But if often gets chillier later in the season.Weeknights are often quite beautiful too! So if you can do Friday nights...
What time of day should I book

So if you know my work; you know that I love to take portraits in the context of sweeping landscapes! So I’m very choosy when it comes to light. But I understand nap times and bed times are important too.

  • 10 am / chilly, not great for little ones / but great morning light!

  • 12pm- 2 pm/ Please realize that we will be shooting in shade and under a trees and bushes mostly. Unless of course it’s overcast. Then we are good. It’s often warmest mid-day which is great for little ones. Pictures will still be pretty, but compositions will be tighter and more intimate.

  • 3pm - 5 pm. Better, I will also pick shady areas during this time. But the back light during this time is often quite vibrant.

  • 6pm - 8pm. Evening is my most favorite time to shoot. Sunset, golden hour. Weekdays are great if you can manage.

  • Depending on what weekend you choose, the light will change because the sunsets earlier every week.

  • Please note, longer bookings obviously means more time to move through landscape.

  • Please do not fear cloudy/overcast days.  This diffused light is very pretty!

Where should I book for FALL foliage sessions?
